Salah is more than just a Season Wonder

Egyptian and Liverpool forward, Mohammed Salah was outstanding for Liverpool in his first season at the club scoring 43 goals in all competitions and taking the Reds to the final of the UEFA Champions League final.

Salah statistics in all competitions are 11 goals and 5 assists in 13 games in the UEFA Champions League, 31 goals and 10 assists in 33 games in the English Premier League and 1 goal in 1 game in English FA cup in the 2017/2018 season.

Although Liverpool didn’t win any trophy in 2017/2018 season Salah’s form was exceptional since joining the club in June 2017.

The current African Player of the Year suffered an injury in the UCL final that didn’t allow him to finish the match, the injury affected his World cup performance, as well as the Egyptian, could only play once for his country who were knocked out at the group stage in the competition in Russia.

Salah started this season slow maybe due to the fact that he is just recovering from the shoulder injury he suffered at the World Cup and many football fans rated him as one season wonder player.

He is now proving them wrong after his hattrick against Bournemouth took him to the top of the goal scorer chart in the English Premier League, he is now a joint top scorer with Arsenal’s Aubameyang in the league.

His goal against Napoli in their final group stage match helped his side qualify for the UCL round of 16.

He is now the player with the highest goals for Liverpool so far this season with 13 goals (10 in the EPL and 3 in the UCL) and 4 assists (4 in the EPL) out of 21 matches in all competition.

Salah’s statistics so far this season in all competition has shown that the PFA Players’ Player of the year has more to offer.

Liverpool is currently on top of the EPL standing and Salah is a major influence for their success so far this season.
