Aubameyang scores as Arsenal starts the year with a Win

Arsenal thrashed struggling Fulham in their first game of the year at the Emirates Stadium in the English Premier League.

The Gooners were able to bounce back from their humiliation at the Anfield after scoring 4 past Fulham but were unable to keep a clean sheet.

G. Xhaka opened the score chart in the 25th minute for the home team. Although Arsenal had some chances to increase the lead, the game ended 1 nil in the first 45 minutes.

A. Lacazette doubled the lead 10 minutes into the second half and still have chances to seal the game. A. Kamara reduced the lead in the 69th minute and were trying to level the game before A. Ramsey increased the lead for Arsenal in the 79th minute. Aubameyang scored 4 minutes after Ramsey’s goal to sink the visiting team. The game ended 4 – 1 in favor of Arsenal.

Arsenal now have 41 points after 21 games in the EPL, that is 6 points ahead of sixth-placed Manchester United and 2 points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.

Fulham, on the other hand, still have 14 points and are still 19th on the EPL log. Claudio Ranieri men will have to hope they get a better result in their next game if they will need to survive in the relegation battle.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with his goal against Fulham is now the leading goal scorer with 14 goals.
