Manchester City thrashed Rotherham United in their first match in the Emirates FA Cup at the Etihad Stadium.
The English Premier League team didn’t give the Championship team any fighting chance as they destroyed their chances early in the match.
Raheem Sterling opened the scorecard early in the match with a great strike in the 12th minute, Phil Foden doubled the lead 2 minutes before halftime. Semi Ajayi put the ball into his own net to make it 3 goals to nothing on the stroke of halftime. Gabriel Jesus scored the fourth goal just 8 minutes into the second half, Riyad Mahrez scored the 5th goal in the 73rd minute. Otamendi makes it 6 nil 5 minutes after Mahrez goal while Leroy Sane finishes off the visiting team in the 85th minute to make it 7 – 0.
Pep Guardiola’s men have now won their second game of the year after beating Liverpool in their first match.
