Oluseun Anikulapo Kuti commonly known as Seun Kuti, the youngest son of late legendary afrobeat pioneer Fela Anukilapo-Kuti, who also sings Afrobeat was a guest on TVC this morning where he spoke on his relationship with his baby mama Yeide, the state of the Nation, the Nigerian music industry and his late father, Fela.

Seun who has shown that he inherited his father’s talents as a musician and currently leads his father’s former band Egypt 80 was asked why he is now quick to respond to anyone who says anything about his father online. Responding, he said:

”I will not stand by and watch anyone bastadize his legacy. Everybody wants to smoke Igbo, chase plenty girls. For those reasons you think you are Fela….No!”.

Afrobeat music was pioneered by a brave and controversial musician, Fela Kuti. He was known for speaking up against the oppressive government and his family members suffered greatly for it.

Despite that Afrobeat has now become very popular as more and more singers infuse it in their music.
