Nigerian man Pleads Guilty to Killing his Girlfriend in London

A Nigerian man identified Oluwaseyi Dada, pleaded guilty to killing his girlfriend 17-year-old Katrina Makunova in Camberwell, South London, after he was arraigned at an Old Bailey Court.

Social media communications between Dada and Katrina were obtained by police from the victim’s mobile phone, and the court was also told how the couple’s relationship recently deteriorated. Both parties had threatened and insulted each other, and had a physical fight on Thursday, 12 July 2018, when Katrina went to the lobby of a block of flats on Brisbane Street where Dada lived.

It was gathered that Katrina who was carrying a knife in her handbag, fell on her handbag during her struggle with Dada. The knife pierced her chest and Police officers who were called to reports of the incident, found Dada administered CPR to Katrina. London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance also arrived the scene of the incident.

Katrina was pronounced dead at the scene at 13:02hrs despite paramedics effort, and a post mortem examination taken on Saturday, 14 July gave the cause of death as a single stab wound. Dada who was arrested on suspicion of murder at the scene and subsequently charged with manslaughter on Friday, 13 July,  will be sentenced on Tuesday, 29 January.
