Empire star Jussie Smollett arrested in Chicago, Victoria Kimani reacts
Jussie Smollett has been arrested in Chicago, for allegedly filing a false police report claiming he was the victim of a hate-crime attack.
A Police spokesman who confirmed that Jussie Smollett has been arrested in Chicago said the Empire star was in the custody of detectives who had earlier contacted Smollett’s legal team, “to negotiate a reasonable surrender for his arrest.”
The actor who faces three years imprisonment if convicted is due in court for a bond hearing at 1:30 p.m. CT Thursday.
In a statement released after Smollett was charged, his attorneys said he “enjoys the presumption of innocence, particularly when there has been an investigation like this one where information, both true and false, has been repeatedly leaked.”
“Given these circumstances, we intend to conduct a thorough investigation and to mount an aggressive defense,” the statement from attorneys Todd S. Pugh and Victor P. Henderson said.
Meanwhile, Victoria Kimani has reacted to the arrest of Empire actor Jussie Smollett who is currently now in police custody. According to the singer, people these days are doing mad things just for clout.
In the post she shared on Twitter, Victoria Kimani advised people to wait for God’s time instead of trying to gain relevance through dishonest means.
She tweeted:
Oh Jussie….. the many risks of clout chasing …. now you might be going to jail …. just because you wanted people to talk about you …. People, let God deliver “Your time” don’t try and expedite “ relevance “
People are doing everything and anything for clout … looking mad dumb …. 
wow”
A follower chipped in with what appeared like a shade to Victoria Kimani:
“Funny to see you are into God.”
Clapping back, she wrote:
“How in the world is that funny? I’m also Into shade … I won’t hesitate to catch yours and throw it back ….. you look dumb have a good day.”
