Governor Wike’s Aide, Bus Passengers still missing days after Abduction in Rivers State

The whereabouts of the passengers who were kidnapped in Rivers State while travelling to Port Harcourt from Warri in Delta State remain unknown as the kidnappers have also not made a demand for ransom.

Gunmen on Monday, January 28, attacked a commercial bus, killing its driver and two passengers on the spot before abducting the remaining passengers in the Rumuekpe -Ndele area of the East-West Road, Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.

After killing the driver and two passengers, the captors immediately took the remaining passengers through a nearby bush.

Similarly, 12 days after the Special Adviser on Lands to Governor Nyesom Wike, Dr Anugbum Onuoha, was kidnapped at Ada George road in Port Harcourt, his whereabouts is still unknown.

The spokesman for the Rivers State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni, had assured on the day of the incident that the Command made contact with sister security agencies and other security stakeholders with the aim of ensuring speedy and timely release of the victim.

Meanwhile, the Rumueprikom kingdom Council of Chiefs Kingdom in Port Harcourt, through its chairman, Chief Hon Prince Weli -Wosu and two others, have appealed to the kidnappers to release their son unconditionally.

“On behalf of the elders, chiefs and the entire people of Rumuepirikom Kingdom, council wishes to state that we are pained that one of our sons, Chief Barr Anugbum Onuoha JP, was kidnapped by unknown gunmen. Dr Anugbum Onuoha, as it is well known, is a peace-loving individual, friend and lover of all. We urge those responsible for such act to release him unconditionally. ”
