#NigeriaDecides2019: ”Do not gloat or humiliate the Opposition” – President Buhari appeals to his Supporters Nationwide

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday thanked Nigerians who re-elected him as he defeated Atiku Abubakar in last Saturday’s presidential election.

Buhari, speaking at APC presidential council, appealed to his supporters not to gloat or humiliate the opposition.

According to him, “I would like to make a special appeal to my supporters not to gloat or humiliate the opposition. Victory is enough reward for your efforts.”

The President also thanked domestic and international observers for contributing to the success of the elections.

He particularly expressed appreciation to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for his “masterful leadership” as co-chair of the Campaign Council.

Buhari also expressed sadness at the grievous loss of lives during the elections, stressing that security agencies would step up efforts to protect voters in the forthcoming state elections.
