#NigeriaDecides2019: Akpabio loses Ikot Ekpene Senatorial seat to PDP

Former Senate Minority leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has lost his seat in the Senate.

In a keenly contested election held on Saturday, February 23rd, Akpabio of the APC was defeated in the race for the Akwa Ibom North Senatorial District by PDP’s candidate, Christopher Stephen Ekpenyong.

The Returning Officer Professor Peter Ogban who announced the result said Ekpenyon polled a total of 118,215 votes to beat Akpabio of APC who scored 83,158 votes.
