The national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of allegedly colluding with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to rig election.

Speaking on Monday, February 18, at a crucial caucus meeting organised by the ruling party following the postponement of the February 16 election, the APC chairman alleged that the commission had brought to the knowledge of PDP the polls shift before any other party.

He said:

“I can put my hands on the Qur’an and swear that INEC and its officials informed the Peoples Democratic Party before postponing the election. The PDP were well acquainted with the plans to move to the elections.

“This is why they did not receive the news with shock. They made us look like fools, because we were busy preparing for the elections while they were relaxing.”

The former Edo governor, who also threatened to compel the commission to reshuffle its top officers ahead of the February 23 election, was also reported to have expressed disappointment over the mixed reactions generated by the polls shift.
