President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday evening, June 12, felicitated with the Super Falcons of Nigeria for their victory over the Korea Republic at the ongoing 2019 World Cup in France.

Nigeria suffered an embarrassing defeat in their first game against Norway and needed a win against Korea so as to keep their hopes of going to the next round alive.

Super Falcons, however, did themselves lots of good by beating Korea 2-0 in their second group game at the Women’s World Cup in France.

And while reacting to the match, President Buhari made it clear on his social media account that he watched the game and also congratulated the Super Falcons.

”I am pleased I was able to watch the Super Falcons match against South Korea, after the Democracy Day Lunch. Congratulations to the Team and Coaching Crew. A well-deserved win on a very special day for Nigeria. We are all proud of your victory,” President Buhari explained.

Nigeria will face host nation France in their final group game in which Super Falcons must avoid a defeat.
