South African rapper, AKA, has taken to social media to make amends regarding the recent xenophobic attacks against foreigners in his country.

The recent xenophobic attack in South Africa has led to friction between some Nigerian celebs and their South African colleagues, particularly rapper AKA.

The rapper had stepped on some toes with his comments on xenophobia and quite a number of celebs expressed their displeasure with him in clear terms.

Many Nigerians also resorted to sending death threats to the SA rapper as they vowed to harm him if he ever sets foot in the country.

Well, AKA has now taken steps to make amends on his comments regarding the xenophobia. In a new tweet, the rapper called for peace between Nigerians and South Africans.

According to him, South Africans and Nigerians need each other and things would only get worse if the hate does not stop.

He tweeted: “PLEASE!!! Can we STOP. We are going to make things worse for everybody on both sides. We need each other! … please. Can we stop. We are supposed to be leading our people.”

AKA then proceeded to ask God to bless Nigeria, South Africa and Africa as a whole.
