Blackface writes Open Letter to new artistes trying to copy late Fela’s Style
Controversial singer Blackface recently penned a short note to upcoming artistes.
Blackface recently used his social media platform to address new and young acts in the music industry.
According to Blackface, if none of them is coming to the music scene with a fresher and newer perspective, they should not bother at all.
Blackface expressed that a lot of the new generation artistes are all trying to model their sound like the late afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.
He rounded up his short note by pleading to the acts on behalf of the good lord, to ensure they create a new melody for their audience.
“Dear artist, if you are not coming to the table with something new please don’t come at all,” his message read in part.

Reacting, a follower also called the singer’s attention to the fact that his style remains the same in his old and new songs.

When a different fan pointed out that the late Fela is worthy of emulation, Blackface explained that artistes can get inspiration from his music, instead of copying it.
See the exchange below:
You can listen to make yours but outright copy and paste sucks
You all are making it seem the only way out for music making artist is to copy from old— GHETTO CHILD (@Blackfacenaija) October 3, 2019
