Here’s Billy Porter’s look to the Oscars which was inspired by Kensington Palace (Photos)

American actor, Billy Porter, who is known for breaking gender rules on red carpets, made a fashion statement as he attended the 92nd Annual Academy Awards on Sunday night.
The openly gay actor, 50, stormed the red carpet in a sleeveless, high-neck, gold-foil-feathered bodice and billowing graphic skirt inspired by Kensington Palace.
He rocked a pair of towering gold metallic strappy boots with gold embellishments by Jimmy Choo.
‘The Oscars are a royal event, so naturally we took inspiration from Kensington Palace. I’m officially a Queen with a KW,’ he wrote on Instagram.
Sam Ratelle, Mr Porter’s stylist who visited the Kensington Palace in 2019, and took a tour of the 415-year-old residential palace, said: “I thought, ‘The Oscars are kind of a royal event,’” Mr Ratelle said. So he called a British designer whom he’d recently befriended, Giles Deacon, and told him he had an idea. Why not infuse the regalness of Kensington Palace into a gown for Mr Porter, whom Mr Ratelle called “a queen with a ‘kw’”?
