PSG have been afraid to play me but I've wanted to be involved - Neymar

Football star Neymar Jr has revealed that his club side, Paris Saint-Germain have been too afraid to play him in recent weeks, despite him wanting to get back on to the pitch.

Neymar, 28 hasn’t been picked for any of PSG’s last three Ligue 1 matches due to his recurrent injuries and coach Thomas Tuchel’s fears of him having a relapse in his recovery process.

Injury has blighted Neymar this season, as he has missed several matches since getting a hamstring and foot injury in October.

But Neymar was selected for Tuesday’s Champions League round of 16 clash against Borussia Dortmund in Germany and scored in the 2-1 loss.
Having been impressed with his all-round play after returning, the Brazilian attacked PSG for opting to keep him on the sidelines even when he felt fit to play.

“It was not my choice not to play the last matches. I wanted to play, I felt good,” Neymar said post-match.

“The club was afraid and it is I who suffer from it.”
PSG will face Dortmund in the return leg on March 11 with a spot in the quarterfinals on the line.
