26-year-old man gains over 100kg within 5 months of Coronavirus lockdown (Photos)

A 26-year-old man in Wuhan has gained 224 pounds which is over 100kg within five months while being home-bound due to coronavirus pandemic, according to doctors.

The man identified as Mr Zhou was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance earlier this month after he fell critically ill due to the sudden increase in his weight.

The man who is now reportedly the heaviest man in Wuhan weighs 616 pounds (over 279kg).

Mr Zhou, who used to work at an internet cafe, was said to have stopped leaving his home since the city went into lockdown in late January 2020 even after it was lifted in early April.

According to his family members, he was struggling to move due to his weight.

Pictures of Mr Zhou, who was was admitted to the hospital on June 1, released by the Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University show medical workers examining him.
