Unknown gunmen have attacked the convoy of the governor of Borno state, Babagana Zulum, at Baga, a town in the northern state, on Wednesday, July 29.

Citing an anonymous source, The Cable reports that the Borno governor was on his way to some internally displaced persons (IDP) camps in the northern part of the state when the incident happened.

The governor went to Kukawa, and on his way to Baga his convoy was attacked. Nobody was injured,” the source was quoted to have said.The newspaper, however, notes that it is unclear if Boko Haram insurgents are behind the attack.
