Festus Keyamo exposes Eedris Abdulkareem’s alleged attempted extortion, shares damning text messages from Eedris
Senior Advocate of Nigeria Festus Keyamo has exposed Eedris Abdulkareem’s alleged attempted extortion, shares text messages he received from the singer.
Narrating how the singer tried to blackmail him in 2018, Keyamo said Eedris tried to meet him after he was named the Director of Strategic Communications for Buhari Campaign Organisation.
When he finally met Eedris, the singer told him he wanted to join the Buhari’s campaign team and that he sang a song in support of President Buhari.
After meeting the singer and listening to the song, Keyamo claimed he told the artiste he had no budget for the song and that his work in the campaign team was voluntary work.
According to him, Eedris then asked him for a N1.3million loan to pay for his mum’s medical bills and also for his hotel bills. However, after he was told by another “government functionary” that Eedris told him a different story, he refused to help.
Keyamo claimed he ghosted Eedris but was contacted again by the singer who begged him to introduce him to top governmental officials.
The Minister shared text messages as evidence to back up his claims as he accused Eedris of trying to blackmail him with his new song “Jaga Jaga reloaded” where the singer name-dropped him.
