Eden Hazard apologises to fans for laughing with Chelsea players after Champions League exit

Real Madrid player Eden Hazard has apologized to fans for laughing and joking with Chelsea’s team after his team defeated at the Champions League semi-final.

Real Madrid lost 3-1 on aggregate to Chelsea as they progressed with Manchester City on May 29 in Istanbul.

The Belgium player was once a Chelsea player where he scored 110 times in over 350 appearances from 2012 to 2019 before was he sold to Real Madrid.

After the match, Hazard final was filmed laughing and joking with some of his former Chelsea teammates, Edouard Mendy and Kurt Zouma.

The video of him laughing with his former teammates sparked media outrage from Spanish outlets and from Real Madrid fans who called for him to be sold.

However, he has apologized to Real Madrid fans as he stated it was not his intention to offend the Real Madrid fans”.

The full statement reads; “I am sorry. I have read lots of opinions about me today and it was not my intention to offend the Real Madrid fans.

“It has always been my dream to play for Real Madrid and I came here to win.

“The season is not over and together we must battle for La Liga! Hala Madrid!”
