Dino Melaye: “ Malami can not arrest even a fly, he is not the law”
Former Kogi state senatorial representative Dino Melaye has reacted to order by Attorney General the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN to arrest people still using Twitter following its suspension.
A few days ago, Malami directed the Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation (DPPF) at the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, to swing commence the process of prosecution of violators of the Federal Government De-activation of operations of Twitter in Nigeria.
Reacting to the report on Twitter, Dino said that the Federal Government and Malami, does not have the power to arrest people using Twitter.
“Malami can not arrest even a fly because he is not the law. Lai Mohammed’s statement is not a Law either.
“Is there any law criminalizing the use of Twitter in Nigeria today? Capital NO. AGF Malami go and read the Constitution Section 36(12) and be educated. SDM” he wrote.
