Man arraigned in court for allegedly defrauding woman who wanted to be Oba Elegushi’s wife of N51m

Sex Worker Granted bail after Stealing N80,000 from Colleague

A 26-year-old Ogun barber, Moses Olaitan has been arraigned at an Ikeja Magistrates court for defrauding a London based woman of N51m.

It was gathered that the suspect impersonated Oba Elegushi on social media, professed love to the complainant and told her to come to Nigeria from London where she stays.

Olaitan who resides at Iyana Governor Road in Idi- Iroko community of Ogun State then told the woman, Joy Okoro to bring N51 million to prepare a concoction for “ritual cleansing”, so she can become a queen.

The unsuspecting woman fell for their tactics and provided the money on July 17th, 2020 at the Ojokoro area of Lagos.

He was thereafter nabbed and charged with impersonation, stealing, obtaining by false pretence and threat to life

According to the Prosecution counsel, Raji Akeem, the offence contravened provisions of sections 56, 287, 314, 380 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Olaitan who pleaded not guilty to the charges was granted bail in the sum of N51million with two sureties in like sum by Chief Magistrate O. I Adelaja. The case was then adjourned till July 5 for mention.
