A foreign professional player will now join the home-based players of the Super Eagles team that will take on El tri of Mexico in an international friendly on July 4.

Tottenham’s U-23 goalkeeper Joshua Olayemi has been called up to Nigeria’s squad for the friendly clash to replace the injured team captain Ikechukwu Ezenwa in the squad.

His invitation means he’s the only foreign-based player in the team as the rest of the team play their football in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
