A Nigerian businessman, simply identified as Dexy, has reacted to the popular notion that bringing one’s relationship to social media will lead to a breakup.

Netizens have strongly advised against making one’s relationship public because there’s a track record of celebrities whose relationships have hit the rock shortly after making it public.

In reaction to this, Dexy took to his Instastory to counter the claim while stating that it isn’t social media that destroys the relationships, but the lies and deceit that gets exposed.

According to him, social media only exposes the hidden activities of one’s lover because many are hiding their sexual promiscuity from their partners under the guise of private relationships.

He wrote,

“I don’t understand when people say “keep your relationship off social media”. Sis you could be dating someone you don’t know, your bae could be another person’s boo or a secret ‘public’ toilet. Social media don’t destroy relationships, it is the lies/deceits that gets exposed. Una never ready.”
