Kano Hisbah arrests man who put himself up for sale for N20 million

A Nigerian man identified as, Aliyu Na Idris, has been arrested by the Kano State Hisbah, for putting himself up for sale at the whopping sum of 20 million naira.

The 26-year-old man tailor made headlines days ago after he was found roaming the streets of Kano, carrying a placard that reads; “This man is for sale for N20 million”.

In a recent development, the Kano State Hisbah board arrested him and in a video posted online, could be seen transporting Aliyu.

Commander-General of the board, Sheik Harun Ibn-Sina, confirmed the arrest to BBC News Pidgin, saying that the young man was arrested because it is forbidden in Islam for one to sell himself.

“Yes we arrested him yesterday (Tuesday) night and he spent the night with us but I haven’t interrogated him.

“In Islam it is forbidden for someone to put up himself for sale for any reason, I’ll give more details after I interview him,” he said.
