Sadiya Haruna bags 6 months jail term for slandering

Sadiya Haruna, a Kannywood actress, was convicted to six months in prison without the possibility of a fee by a magistrate’s court in Kano state.

After a clip she shared on social media went viral, she was charged in court by the Kano State Hisbah Board on allegations of slandering her ex-boyfriend and musician, Isa.

Sadiya was seen in the video calling Isa a homosexual, a bastard, and an incurable philanderer. She also said that the star insisted that she have anal intercourse with him.

A Sharia court in Kano state sentenced her for profanity and indecent behaviour in August 2021. The court, chaired over by Justice Muntari Garba Dandago, condemned her for slandering her ex-boyfriend’s reputation on Monday, February 7.
