Robert Lewandowski wins Germany's Footballer of the Year award for the second season running

Chelsea Football Club is reportedly monitoring Robert Lewandowski’s situation at Bayern Munich and could join the race to sign the Polish attacker amid Barcelona’s interest.

Lewandowski’s future is up in the air after he made clear he was unwilling to extend his Bayern contract, which expires in the summer of 2023.

Though Barca is targeting a deal for the Bundesliga’s highest goal scorer, sources say Chelsea FC believe Lewandowski’s decision is a blessing in disguise for them.

Currently, Chelsea is sanctioned and unable to make transfers, which gives Barcelona an edge over them – but that’s projected to end soon, courtesy of Todd Boehly’s takeover.
