Election 2023: Peter Obi picks Doyin Okupe as running mate

President candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has picked Dr Doyin Okupe as his running mate.

According to Arise TV, Okupe was chosen as a Vice Presidential candidate in a placeholder role in order to meet the Independent National Electoral Commission’s deadline of Friday, June 17.

With the deadline already here, various parties have made moves to submit names of their running mates, with some serving only as a placeholder.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress’ presidential candidate, had also named Kabir Ibrahim Masari as his running mate in order to meet INEC’s deadline of Friday, June 17; Abubakar Atiku has also submitted Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa as his running mate.
