Enraged man destroys his wife’s Academic Certificates during a Quarrel

A Kenyan man, Francis Chege Wanjiru, has been charged with malicious damage to property after it was claimed that he destroyed his wife’s academic credentials during an argument.

Wanjiru was charged before the Kibera Law Courts, Nairobi, on Friday, June 24, with willfully and unlawfully damaging Esther Wangechi Mwai’s KCSE and Diploma certificates, both issued by the Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec).

The accused committed the offence at their home in the Waithaka area along Kikuyu road in Dagoretti Sub County, Nairobi on June 22, 2022.

It was gathered that Wanjiru had just returned home at night when an argument ensued between him and his wife. Enraged, he reportedly took the documents, which were in an envelope, and tore them to pieces before storming out of the house.

His wife, Ms Mwai, reported the matter at the Waithaka police station, and he was subsequently arrested.

Wanjiru, however, denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Derrick Kutto and was released on a surety bond of Sh50,000 with an alternative cash bail of Sh10,000.

In other news, a young man has reportedly died after donating his kidney to his ailing mother.

According to a Twitter user who shared the news of the man’s death on the micro-blogging platform, the unidentified young man went to great lengths to save his mother, who was down with a kidney ailment and the doctors insisted she needed a kidney transplant.

The Twitter user, Abubakar Sadiq Kurbe, said the young man died after donating one of his kidneys to his mother, while his mother survived the procedure and is now recovering.
