Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, has boasted that there hasn’t been a blackout at his church headquarters in Ota, Ogun State, popularly known as Canaanland, in 23 years.

The clergyman said that the church achieved this without the input of the federal, state, or local government.

“Light has never gone off in Canaanland since 1999. We have zero input from any government in Nigeria whether local, state or federal. Not that we collect offering every Sunday to achieve this. We invested resources and have good and very committed people that manage it. We teach the world that you can make your marks by depending on God.

“They don’t use mouth to get power. You invest resources to sustain power. Have we ever raised an offering for power here? Never!” He said.

Canaanland, Ota is reportedly Africa’s second-biggest Christian estate. It is a 5,000-acre expanse of land consisting of Covenant University (560 acres), The Farm (400 acres), Faith Tabernacle (70 acres), CU sec school, Faith Academy, and Dominion Pub House, to mention but a few.

In other news, Oyedepo has admonished Christians, asking them to deviate from criticizing clergymen.

According to him, such an attitude attracts dangerous punishment from God such as leprosy. A report by SaharaReporters shares that the renowned clergyman gave the warning during the Leadership Empowerment Summit at the church’s headquarters, Faith Tabernacle, Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State.

Oyedepo said many critics of his ministry must have been victims of the warning, stressing that the warnings are based on spiritual insights.
