‘OBIdient’ movement only exists on social media. After the election, it will become obituary – Former APC spokesperson, Yekini Nabena

Former spokesperson of the All Progressive Congress, Yekini Nabena, is of the opinion that the ‘OBIdient’ movement is dead on arrival.

The movement was kickstarted on social media by supporters of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, ahead of the 2023 general elections.

However, Nabena speaking on the movement to newsmen on Wednesday, June 22, said it only exists on social media and with time, it will lose relevance.

His words,

“I can tell you that the so-called ‘Obedient movement’ only exists on social media and after the coming elections they will naturally turn to disobedient movement, and later obituary because the movement will naturally vamoose.”

He added that the ruling party, APC, will perform extremely well in the 2023 election as ‘their people’ will come out in their numbers to vote for the ‘right party.

The Bayelsa-born politician also assured APC that they will get nothing less than 2.1 million votes from the Niger Delta region in the presidential election.

“The APC will secure nothing less than 2.1 million votes from Escravos to Forcados, Brass to Bonny, in the Niger Delta. This is because our people are massively coming out to get their PVC and they know the right party and candidate to vote for when the time comes,” he said.
