Ambode Impeachment: Governor Ambode’s Supporters stage Protest at Lagos Assembly

The drama in Lagos state took a new turn a few days ago when the Lagos State House of Assembly made a move to impeach the sitting governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.

Ambode who lost his chance of reelection during the primaries of his party, APC, have been given 7 days to respond to the petition of the House or face a possible impeachment.

Some residents of Lagos state are currently in front of the state House of Assembly, staging a protest against the planned impeachment of the state Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.

Recall that on Monday, January 28th, the state Assembly members accused Governor Ambode of gross misconduct, not signing into law the 2019 budget among other infractions and have threatened to impeach him.

These group of protesters are demanding that the planned impeachment be shelved by the lawmakers.
