Minimum Wage: Reps pass Bill to make new Minimum Wage N30,000

CJN Onnoghen's Suspension: Senate to reconvene on Tuesday January 29th

The House of Representatives has passed the bill which will see the new minimum wage increase to N30,000.

The House passed the bill during plenary after it considered the report of its ad hoc committee.

Lawmakers resolved to leave the new minimum wage “as recommended by the tripartite committee” which approved N30,000 for both federal and state workers.

The bill was passed by the lower Chambers just a week after President Muhammadu Buhari sent the wage bill for consideration. It was first approved by the National Council of State which approved the sum of N27,000 but was later increased to N30,000 by the Federal government for both State and Federal workers.
