SARS in Lagos allegedly harassed Nigerian rapper Harteez

A Nigerian rapper Harteez has claimed that he was harassed and detained by Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS in Lagos.

According to him, he was approached by some men in mufti and requested to drop his ATM card and phone, before taking him to their Police Station in Onipanu where he was detained overnight.

Where is this country heading this police harassment hasn’t stoped.

On my way to ojota from palmgroove bus stop 3 police men hooked me at my trouser asking me my phone and atm. They claimed to be federal sars they took me to their police post at onipanu I slept over the night I was just released this afternoon.

This report is coming not long after the new acting Inspector General of the Police, Abubakar Adamu asked that the officers of the SARS should be reorganised.

This is not the first report of police brutality that has been reported just a few days after the men of the Special Anti Robbery Squad was reintroduced back to the society.

The unit of the Nigerian Police Force was reformed after several youths protest their high level of harassment and molestation. The former IGP, Ibrahim Idris was ordered by the then Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo to reform the unit.
