Woman arrested for stealing baby inside Nnamdi Azikwe University Teaching Hospital (video)

A Nigerian lady identified as Dorothy Sunday has been arrested shortly after she stole a baby at Nnamdi Azikwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi, Anambra State.

The lady who stole a 5-day-old baby at the Nnamdi Azikwe University Teaching Hospital reportedly sneaked into the facility and reportedly perpetrated the said act when the 22-year-old mother of the baby, Happiness Mmadu, went to wash her clothes.

The incident which created pandemonium in the medical facility occurred around 5:30 pm on Wednesday at the maternity section of the hospital, and according to eyewitnesses, the lady has long been handed over to the police for investigation and prosecution.

In a statement released in Awka on Thursday, SP Haruna Mohammed, Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Police Command the suspect when nurses at the hospital gate saw her in a suspicious manner and raised an alarm which led to her arrest. He said that the baby was recovered in good condition and the case under investigation. He gave the assurance that the suspect would be charged to court after investigations.
