Jussie Smollett blasted for wanting ‘presumption of innocence’ when he didn’t give US Justice, Brett Kavanaugh, same benefits during Rape Accusations

Empire star Jussie Smollett Hospitalised after Homophobic, Racist attack

Empire star, Jussie Smollett, who has been charged by the Chicago Police Department for orchestrating his own hate attack, has been blasted online, after it was revealed the actor immediately presumed US Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh guilty after he was accused by Professor Christine Ford during his Senate confirmation of attempted rape in his high school days.

Mediallite columnist, Julio Rosas, in her column on Thursday, wrote, “Jussie Smollett Wants Presumption of Innocence…Though He Didn’t Give Brett Kavanaugh Benefit of the Doubt.”

“He, however, had a different approach during the confirmation of then-Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh when he was accused of serious sexual misconduct without hard evidence,” Rosas wrote. “The main difference is that Kavanaugh was not on trial, but the idea of innocent until proven guilty still remains the same.”

Smollett, three weeks ago, initially told police he was attacked by two masked men as he was walking home from a Subway sandwich shop at around 2 a.m on Jan. 29. The actor, who is black and gay, said the masked men beat him, made derogatory comments and yelled “This is MAGA country” – an apparent reference to President Donald Trump’s campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again” – before fleeing.

Chicago Police department working in tandem with the FBI, after three weeks of investigation, arrested Smollett on Thursday morning, saying the actor orchestrated his own hate crime so as to get a pay raise from the producers of the hit TV show, Empire, as he felt he wasn’t getting paid well.

Smollett’s legal team, upon the actor’s arrest, released a statement that declared, “Like any other citizen, Mr Smollett enjoys the presumption of innocence.”, but social media users were quick to reference his tweet months ago presuming US Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh guilty, even though investigations were still ongoing at the time.

Back on Sept. 28, Smollett tweeted, “Dear Survivors… I believe you. I support you. I love you. I am one of you,” with the hashtags #IBelieveDrChristineBlaseyFord #IStillBelieveAnitaHill.
