Police confirm the kidnap of Governor Wike's aide, Anugbom Anuoha

The Nigerian army has announced the arrest of at least eight suspects who allegedly disrupted the 2019 presidential election in Rivers state.

Parading the suspects at the 6 division of the Nigerian army, Port Harcourt, on Tuesday, Sagir Musa, army spokesman, said the suspects confessed to being working for Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers state.

According to him, they had posed as the staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and tampered with electoral materials.

He also said the army has on record phone conversations between the suspects and the governor. The suspects were paraded before journalists at the division headquarters. They were subsequently taken out to where the army said a “car of Rivers state of government which they used” in their operation was parked.
