UCL: Ronaldo’s Hat-trick sends Juventus into the Quarterfinals

Cristiano Ronaldo makes UEFA Team of the Year for the 13th Consecutive Time

Cristiano Ronaldo scored thrice against Atletico Madrid at Turin to help Juventus proceed to the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League.

Ronaldo opened the score chart in the 27th minute with a fine strike but the Old Lady and the visitors were unable to get more goals in the first 45 minutes. The game ended 1 goal to nil in the first half and 2 goals to 1 in favour of Atletico Madrid on aggregate.

Cristiano was on target again in the 48 minutes to level both the aggregate of both legs of the tie. the Portuguese goal poacher scored from the spot in the 86th minute to complete his hat-trick and send his team to the next round of the competition.

Juventus won the game 3 goals to nothing and won the tie with 3 goals to 2.

This is the second time Ronaldo has helped save his team from a 2 goal deficit after the first leg in the UEFA Champions League. He did something similar when he was in Real Madrid and his team lost 2 goals to nothing against Wolfsburg in Germany only for Ronaldo to score a hat-trick in the Bernabeu to save his team, Madrid went ahead to lift the UCL trophy that season.
