Women with two Wombs open up after Woman with two Wombs gave birth to Twins one month after delivering a Son
The story of a Bangladeshi woman who gave birth to twins days after giving birth to a son has shocked the world while also giving women with similar conditions the courage to share their story.
Arifa Sultana, 20, was diagnosed with a condition called uterus didelphys, which means that she has two uteruses. This was not known until after she had her twins days after the birth of a baby boy.
Other women with similar conditions are now coming out to share their stories after Sultana’s story was made public.
Some of the women said they have two uteruses – uterus didelphys- too while some said they have 1 uterus split in two halves, a condition called bicornuate uterus. Some of the women said this means having double periods in one month and having double-simultaneous pregnancy.
Carolanne Marie opened up on Facebook, writing: “My uterus is split into 2 halves. They use to have their own cycles, which mean I could have had a double pregnancy also.”
Nikki Snyder replied: “Carolanne Marie my mother does too. They weren’t equal in size tho. I got in the smaller side and was a 4lb mini at birth and dropped down into the 3 5lbs after delivery.”
Norma Moreno also replied, writing: “Same, I have a bicornuate uterus. My son was breach due to not having enough room.”
