Chinua Achebe’s works are FAR MORE SUPERIOR than Wole Soyinka’s – Reno Omokri

Obviously, Reno is ready to defend his view that Chinua Achebe’s works are more superior to that of Professor Wole Soyinka.

Reno Omokri has come out to put Chinua Achebe’s works above those of Wole Soyinka as he refers them as “more superior.”

The popular author and lawyer, took to his twitter page, Wednesday to share his opinion on the literary works of the two iconic Nigerian writers. He tweeted;

Between Chinua Achebe and Professor Wole Soyinka, I would give the
@NobelPrize
for literature to Achebe 100 times out of 100 times. I still don’t understand how Soyinka got it and Achebe did not. I read their books. Achebe’s works are by far the more superior works of literature.

Many were quick to come at his as being tribalistic and Reno had responses for them. In response to a Twitter user, he tweeted;

Dear
@Salauolatunji3,

My mother is from Ogun. I‘m Itsekiri. If it is by tribalism, I will go with Soyinka from the same state as my mum. I ascended tribe and race years ago. As a Christian, I have read The Quran and I studied Islamic jurisprudence. These are non tribal opinions.

Another twitter user that reacted to the post saying;

This man your prejudice against the Yorubas is conspicuous. The Nobel prize givers are detached and objective. Saying Achebe’s work is superior is funny. The ethnic idiosyncrasy does not help… the reason Nigeria is the way it is.

Reno responded;

Dear
@andrea_eyitayo,

If a mosquito bites people like you, you will find a way to give it tribal colouration. I almost died under Abacha because I ran an underground magazine struggling for the actualisation of Abiola’s June 12. Where was my prejudice against the Yoruba then?

Obviously, Reno is ready to defend his view that Chinua Achebe’s works are more superior to that of Professor Wole Soyinka.
