Kanye West jacket to Met Gala 2019 reportedly cost just $40, despite this year’s theme being “Camp: Notes on Fashion,”

The rapper showed up to the event in an unexpectedly understated look.

Standing out amongst the crowd of extremely overdressed celebrities, Kanye could be seen wearing a Dickies Eisenhower Jacket in black matched with a pair of black trousers and YEEZY Season 4 Military Combat Boots in the dark tone “Oil” colourway.

Kanye kept things minimal but added a subtle touch of contrast with a simple white T-shirt hidden behind the classic workwear staple and some choice diamond-encrusted accessories.

Meanwhile, his wife Kim Kardashian joined the other celebrities to dress lavishly for the event.

She opted for an interesting “wet look” beaded latex Thierry Mugler dress which according to reports, apparently took eight months to produce.

This would not be the first time that Kanye has gone on the red carpet dressing cheaply, Vogue reports.

In 2016 for the “Manus x Machina: Fashion in An Age of Technology” gala, Kanye paired his glitzy Balmain jacket with shredded jeans.

As for his choice this time? West’s rejection of the theme was equally ironic and accessible.

The Met Gala 2019 event was graced by celebrities who took their time to show off the most classic fabrics in their closets and memories from the event will last a lifetime.
