Naira Marley is celebrating his BIRTHDAY in EFCC custody, Zlatan Ibile reacts
Report says the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested singer Afeez Fashola aka Naira Marley.
The fast-rising singer is currently being questioned at the EFFC office in Ikoyi, Lagos.
His arrest might be in connection with his statements on social media which glorifies internet fraudsters aka Yahoo boys.
Last month, Naira Marley took to Instagram to defend internet fraudsters popularly known as ‘Yahoo-Yahoo’, saying it is not a crime.
In the defence of the fraudsters, the musical artist stated that Yahoo-Yahoo is not a crime because slave trade justifies it. He wrote:
If u know about slavery u go know say yahoo no b crime..
In another post, he called on Nigerians to pray for Yahoo boys:
“All you guys, all the money in your pockets, all the money you spend, you think it’s the government that is making the money go round?
You better sit down and pray for yahoo boys. If them stop yahoo, the money would not pass you guys”, he said.
He added:
“The money will go like this, from Obasanjo to Tinubu, from Tinubu to Mr Japa, you think me I need Yahoo?
I make money from my music.”
However a quick check on Instagram, revealed that Naira Marley is currently ‘celebrating’ his birthday in EFCC custody, as confirmed by Zlatan Ibile who has already penned down a birthday message to him.
He wrote;
Happy Birthday Naira !! Thanks for always been there !! What we discussed last year Happening now ! This time next year we would Rejoice more ! Long Life baba ibeji @nairamarley
