Security Guard kills Colleague for SNITCHING

A security guard identified as Monday Odey has been arrested by officers of the Nigerian Police Force in Iwo, Osun State, for allegedly killing his colleague, Abdullahi Yinusa, at Magodo, Lagos for snitching on him.

According to reports, Yinusa reported to their employer after he caught Monday several times stealing, Vanguard reports. Lagos police spokesman, Bala Elkana, said the case was reported on April 5, by Bola Ikupoluyi, their employer, and he was arrested on May 2, 2019.

The deceased was said to have confronted Odey on April 4, for allegedly stealing items belonging to his employer such as clothes, bicycles, among others.

“The suspect picked offence and threatened to kill the said Yinusa. The complainant, being their employer responded by sacking the suspect and ordered him to vacate the premises immediately. The suspect, displeased with the sack, returned to the house the same day at about 7pm “under the guise of taking his personal belongings from the house, gained access to the premises and murdered Yinusa with a shovel.” Elkana said.

Sequel to the report, the Commissioner of Police Lagos State tasked the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Panti to ensure that no stone is left unturned in tracking the location of the fugitive suspect and bringing him to face the full wrath of the law.

Following a thorough and painstaking investigation by Homicide detectives from the State CID, the suspect was traced to Iwo, Osun State and apprehended on May 2, 2019.

Vanguard reports that he has confessed to the commission of the crime and will be charged to Court for murder.”
