#AFCON2019: Egypt kicks off Tournament with a Win over Zimbabwe

The host of the 2019 edition of the African Cup of Nations, Egypt has started the tournament on a good note after defeating Zimbabwe with a lone goal.

The Pharaohs of Egypt went ahead in the 41st minute thanks to a goal from Trezeguet. The match ended 1 goal to nothing in the first 45 minutes. Both teams gave it their best in the second half but none was able to get one past the keeper as the second half ended goalless. The match ended 1 goal to nothing in favour of the Pharaohs of Egypt.

Egypt is now on top of the table with 3 points while they await the result of the other fixtures in Group A between DR Congo and Uganda.

The Warriors of Zimbabwe will hope to save their chances in the tournament when they face Uganda in their next fixtures while Egypt will hope to continue their winning streak against DR Congo.
