Naira Marley still in Ikoyi Prison till Monday – Management announces
Nigerian rapper, Afeez Fashola, popularly known by his stage name, Naira Marley, is set to be released from Ikoyi prison in Lagos state on Monday, June 3, his management reveals.
The rapper who was arrested for charges bordering on fraud was in court for his bail hearing.
On Friday, May 31, the rapper’s management took to his Instagram page to announce to his fans that he would be released. They revealed that all the bail conditions given to the rapper has been perfected.
According to the management, the rapper would be released on Monday, June 3, and he is to remain in Ikoyi prison until then.
It was also reported that the rapper is still staying in prison after his bail has been perfected because the court needs to confirm it first.
Naira Marley’s management had earlier released an official statement via the singer’s Instagram page, stating that he is still in custody and will be released May 30.
The court ordered that Naira Marley must provide Two Million Naira (2,000,000) bond, and two sureties, one with a landed property and the other, a Civil Servant, not lower than a level 10 officer. The judge also directed EFCC to verify the bail terms.
