Northern Leaders regret gang up against Goodluck Jonathan

Gov. Kashim Shettima of Borno State has expressed regrets at the gang up of Northern leaders against the administration of former president Goodluck Jonathan.

According to him, during the Goodluck Jonathan administration, the Northern Governors travelled to the US, convinced Obama’s government not to sell weapons to Nigeria.

Obama agreed with Northern governors plans and which led to an embargo placed on weapon procurement by Jonathan’s administration.

Jonathan had to contact a licensed private arms dealer who travelled to South Africa to buy weapons for our military in order to ensure they defeat Boko Haram.

However, the Boko Haram members in the Presidency leaked out this secret arms deal to their Northern leaders and Governors who immediately contacted President Jacob Zuma leading to South Africa seizing the money, $9.34million which they tagged “Money laundry”.

They again reported to Zuma who seized the sum of $5.7m to frustrate his anti-terrorism fight after they got wind of information that he had contacted another South African arms dealer.

In order to further frustrate Jonathan, the northern leaders also threatened to drag the former Chief of Army Staff, General Azubuike Ihejirika before the ICC for brutally dealing with their ‘Boko Haram’.
