Wendy Williams takes extended leave of absence from ‘The Wendy Show’

Things are looking up for Wendy Williams as she is set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, alongside Julia Robert, Chris Hemsworth, Octavia Spencer and more.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s Walk of Fame Selection Committee announced on Thursday that 35 new celebrities and entertainers from the worlds of film, television, theatre or live performance, music or recording, and radio, have been chosen for the coveted honour.

The announcement reads:

“Today saw the committee announce that 35 notable names from the realms of film, TV, theatre, music, and radio, have been chosen to receive the honour on the iconic strip in 2020.

“William who began her seasoned career in radio will be saluted for her services in TV.

“Elsewhere, actors Chris Hemsworth, Julia Roberts, Octavia Spencer and Mahershala Ali were picked in the Motion Picture category; also present on that list are Oscar-winning directors Spike Lee and Lina Wertmuller, as well as fictional character Batman.

“Joining Williams in the TV category are Christina Applegate, Andy Cohen, Cindy Crawford, Terry Crews, Kathie Lee Gifford, Nigel Lythgoe, Milo Ventimiglia, Burt Ward, Dr Phil McGraw, and the late comedian Andy Kaufman.

“50 Cent (real name Curtis Jackson) secured a spot in the Music category.”
