Homophobic Attack: Lesbian couple brutally beaten on London Bus

Four teenagers, aged between 15 to 17, have been charged in the attack on a lesbian couple on London bus.

Melania Geymonat and her girlfriend, Chris, both in their 20s, were assaulted on May 29 after refusing to kiss when a group of young men forced them to. The women were attacked and left bloodied and the photo went viral, sparking outrage.

London’s Met police released a statement saying four teenage boys aged 15 to 17 have now been charged for committing an aggravated hate crime. One 16-year-old was also charged with theft and handling stolen goods while another 16-year-old was charged for the possession of cannabis.

The teenagers are expected to appear in youth court on August 21.
