#AFCON2019: Mahrez late Stunner helps Algeria defeat Nigeria; to meet Senegal in the Final

Algerian winger, Riyad Mahrez scored a stunning freekick on the stroke of full time to send his team to the final of the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The Greens went up in the 40th minute after Nigerian Hero in the Quarter Final fixtures against South Africa, William Troost-Ekong scored an unfortunate own goal after he deflected the ball into his own net in the 40th minute. Ighalo equalised in the 72nd minute from the spot-kick thanks to VAR assisted decision by the referee. Mahrez scored a freekick in the 94th minute of the match to send Algeria to the final of the competition.

Mahrez was named the Man of the Match.

Algeria will now face Senegal in the final of the competition in hopes to win the competition for the first time. Both teams have already met once in this tournament in the group stage, Algeria won the tie with a lone goal.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria, on the other hand, will be facing Tunisia in the third-place fixture.
