#CopaAmerica2019: Brazil win 9th Title on Home Soil, beating Peru

Brazil have ended their 12 years drought in international football after defeating Peru in the final of the 2019 Copa America on home soil.

Everton opened the scorecard with a fine strike in the 15th minute, the underdog who pulled a surprise on all viewers of the competition, Peru equalised from the spot in the 44th minute thanks to a well taken PK by J. P. Guerrero, Gabriel Jesus immediately put the home team ahead in the 45th minute before the half time whistle. The Manchester City striker was on the referee record again but not for a good reason after he was sent off in the 70th minute when he received his second yellow card in the match. Richarlisson converted from the spot for the home team to make it 3 goals to 1 in the 90th minute.

Everton was named Man of the Match for his composure and great performance during the final match while Dani Alves was named the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament.

Brazil have now hosted the competition 5 times and have won it all 5 times, the Selecao hosted and won it in the following years: 1919, 1922, 1949, 1989, 2019.

Brazil have now won their 9th Copa America title while Dani Alves also lifted his 40th trophy as a player.
