Buhari’s Government berated by UK Rights Commission over Proscription of Shi’ites

Buhari issues strong warning to Shiites Members over Protest, tells them to await Court Judgement

The Islamic Human Rights Commission of the United Kingdom (UK) in a statement titled “New levels of cruelty from the Buhari regime” condemned the Federal Government over its move to proscribe the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) a.k.a Shi’ites.

According to the group, the plan to proscribe IMN came from the growing pressure President Buhari’s government has been facing in Nigeria and around the world to release Sheikh El-Zakzaky and Mallima Zeenah.

“If the reported proscription of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria is true, then this is a spectacularly cynical move on the part of the authorities.

“It is clear they wish to frustrate the growing pressure from inside Nigeria and around the world to release Sheikh El-Zakzaky and Mallima Zeenah.

“It is clear that the movement and its leaders are the innocents in this situation, and the Buhari regime the terroriser” the statement read in parts.
